This book was released on 2009-06-01 with total page 743 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mrs. Duff transcribed these marriages from the comprehensive marriage index housed at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Fort Payne, Alabama. The comprehensive index is itself based on official DeKalb County marriage books that form a portion of the Probate Court Records filed at the courthouse. Since the compiler chose to list every marriage alphabetically by bride and by groom, each of the 10,250 marriages (20,500 brides and grooms) appears twice. The marriages are arranged in tabular format, and for each we are given the names of both parties to the marriage, the date of the wedding, and a citation.

Download or read Apple Macintosh Encyclopedia PDF, written by Gary Phillips and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Apple Macintosh Encyclopedia provides easily accessible, brief and understandable information on the topics that you are most likely to have questions about. We have carefully digested the manuals, books, magazine articles, and other information sources for the Macintosh. These, combined with our own experience in using the Macintosh and other personal computers, have been integrated into an alphabetical sequence of short entries in the style of an encyclopedia. The goal is to provide concise, useful and easy-to-understand information on a particular topic that is quickly accessible when you need it. Much of the information in the entries is not contained in the manuals provided with the Macintosh and various software products. For example, notice the discussion, under WIDTH, of the "deferred" nature of this command when used with a device name, the discussion of the colon (:) in Multiplan for ranges, or Saving, Problems With. These topics are omitted or inadequately covered in the standard manuals. The Macintosh is the first truly visual computer. In keeping with the highly visual nature of using the Macintosh, we have provided over 100 illustrations. Each shows exactly what you will see on the screen when exploring topics discussed in the text. The Macintosh Encyclopedia opens with a visual guide to icons, and remains highly visual in orientation throughout the text.

Download or read The Adaptive Brain II PDF, written by Stephen Grossberg and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 532 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Adaptive Brain, II: Vision, Speech, Language, and Motor Control focuses on a unified theoretical analysis and predictions of important psychological and neurological data that illustrate the development of a true theory of mind and brain. The publication first elaborates on the quantized geometry of visual space and neural dynamics of form perception. Discussions focus on reflectance rivalry and spatial frequency detection, figure-ground separation by filling-in barriers, and disinhibitory propagation of functional scaling from boundaries to interiors. The text then takes a look at neural dynamics of perceptual grouping and brightness perception. Topics include simulation of a parametric binocular brightness study, smoothly varying luminance contours versus steps of luminance change, macrocircuit of processing stages, paradoxical percepts as probes of adaptive processes, and analysis of the Beck theory of textural segmentation. The book examines the neural dynamics of speech and language coding and word recognition and recall, including automatic activation and limited-capacity attention, a macrocircuit for the self-organization of recognition and recall, role of intra-list restructuring arid contextual associations, and temporal order information across item representations. The manuscript is a vital source of data for scientists and researchers interested in the development of a true theory of mind and brain.

Download or read Electromagnetism for Engineers PDF, written by Andrew J. Flewitt and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-01-30 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electromagnetism for Engineers An easily accessible textbook to introduce the power of electromagnetism Electromagnetism can be a difficult subject to grasp and to teach. Much of what we take for granted in modern life is enabled by electromagnetic effects, but it isn’t always easy to understand the impact of electromagnetism compared to other areas of engineering, such as mechanics, which are more tangibly observed and felt. Although electromagnetism is a crucial and important branch of physics with elegant mathematics, many students can find the study of electromagnetism inaccessible. It is crucial for students of electrical and electronic engineering and physics to have a strong understanding of electromagnetism and how it impacts communications, power generation and transmission, semiconductor devices, motors, and more. Electromagnetism for Engineers aims to develop a student’s understanding of electromagnetism in the context of real effects and how they apply to such applications, whilst maintaining the sophistication of the mathematics that can be used to give deeper insight. It begins by describing the fundamentals of electromagnetism before a more detailed discussion of the basic concepts developed for specific application areas. It then considers the application of electromagnetism to transmission lines, antennas, and waveguides. Electromagnetism for Engineers readers will find: A unique approach that illustrates the link between real-life applications and fundamental theory of electromagnetism Clear, concise language to help students gain a full understanding of the subject Carefully designed figures to illustrate points throughout the book Accompanying website at www.wiley.com/go/flewitt1418 Electromagnetism for Engineers has been written as a textbook for undergraduates studying electronic or electrical engineering. The manual can also be of interest to physics students and to graduate-level students desirous of having a general book on electromagnetism. It is also a useful reference for professional engineers looking for a refresher on the fundamentals of electromagnetism.
